Millennium Lecture Series

Revisit Issaquah's early days at the turn of the century.  All Lectures are held at 7:30pm (immediately following a 7:00 pm business meeting) at the Historic Railroad Depot.  Free, Open to all ages, complimentary refreshments.

The program will include a video of the project; Greg Spranger will also speak and answer questions. Other community members who worked on the restoration are encouraged to attend, and to contribute their comments and anecdotes.

Dedication Ceremony - August 10th

Please join us Tuesday, August 10, 1999 at 1:30pm for a Dedication Ceremony, honoring the late Ted Cook, Jr.

Ted was instrumental in obtaining, restoring and preserving the Steam Donkey, a vital part of Issaquah History. The Dedication will take place at the Steam Donkey, located at First Avenue SE and SE Bush Street in Issaquah, one block south of the Depot. Reception at the Depot to follow.

Issaquah Salmon Days Festival

Migrating to the Millennium.
The 30th Anniversary Issaquah Salmon Days Festival.

Saturday & Sunday, October 2 & 3, 1999
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
In Historic Downtown Issaquah

Celebrating the return of salmon to our lakes, streams, and downtown hatchery every fall, with a weekend of nonstop activities.  Arts, Crafts, Food, Live Entertainment, Grand Parade, Hatchery Tours and More.

Presented by the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.

Both the Depot and Gilman Town Hall Museums will be open throughout Salmon Days, along with both gift shops. Transportation artist J. Craig Thorpe will be setting up his studio in the Depot, where visitors can watch him as he paints a depiction of the proposed Issaquah Trolley.  The Society will also have Historic Pump Car rides and Pop and Popcorn

Annual Meeting - October 12th

The IHS Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 12, at 7:00 PM, followed by a presentation entitled, “Issaquah Festivals, Historic City at Play.”  Members will vote on proposed by-law changes and elect Board members. The meeting will be held at the Depot, located at 50 Rainier Blvd N, in Issaquah. Anyone wishing to serve on the nominating committee can leave a message at (425)392-3500
